1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser when you visit a website. They can help a site remember a choice, maintain a secure session, prevent abuse, or understand how pages function.
Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, software development tools, and identifiers created by a website or service provider. In this Policy, “cookies” is used as a convenient collective term unless a distinction is necessary.
2. Our current approach
Clean Home Routines is primarily an editorial website. Reading an article should not require you to create an account or provide personal details.
Important: this Policy does not claim that analytics or advertising cookies are currently active. Those categories apply only if the relevant technology is configured. Where consent is legally required, non-essential cookies should not be placed before the required choice is made.
WordPress, the hosting environment, security tools, and form features may use essential session or security technologies when needed to provide a requested function. Logged-in administrator cookies do not normally affect ordinary readers who are not signed in.
3. Categories and purposes
| Category | Purpose | Status on Clean Home Routines | Typical examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Operate requested features, protect forms, maintain security, balance traffic, remember privacy choices, or support WordPress administration. | May operate when required | Security tokens, session identifiers, anti-spam signals, consent-choice storage |
| Functional | Remember an optional preference that improves convenience but is not essential to display an article. | Only when a feature needs it | Display preference, language choice, dismissed interface notice |
| Analytics or performance | Measure visits, page performance, navigation patterns, and technical errors so the Site can be improved. | Not assumed active; only if configured | Page-view measurement, aggregated traffic reports, performance timing |
| Advertising | Deliver, limit, measure, or personalize advertising and understand interactions with promotional content. | Not assumed active; may be introduced later | Ad frequency, campaign measurement, interest-based advertising identifiers |
| Embedded third-party content | Load a video, social post, map, product widget, or other content hosted by another service. | Only on pages containing that feature | Video-player preferences, media-session identifiers, social-platform measurement |
The exact cookie names can change when WordPress, a plugin, hosting configuration, or optional service is updated. The category, purpose, provider, and choice available are more meaningful than a permanent list of names that may quickly become inaccurate.
4. First-party and third-party cookies
First-party cookies are set for cleanhomeroutines.com. They may support security, a form, site preferences, or another feature controlled through the Site.
Third-party cookies are set or read by another service included on a page, such as an embedded video, analytics provider, spam-prevention system, or future advertising service. Those providers may process information under their own privacy policies.
We seek to limit third-party technology to services that support a clear operational, editorial, security, measurement, or funding purpose.
5. Session and persistent cookies
Session cookies normally expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies remain until their configured expiry date or until you delete them.
Duration depends on purpose. A security or form token may be short-lived, a preference may last longer so it does not need to be selected repeatedly, and an optional service may use its own duration. We aim not to retain cookie data longer than reasonably necessary for the stated purpose.
6. Consent and other legal grounds
Strictly necessary cookies may be used without optional consent when they are essential to provide a service or feature you requested, subject to applicable law. Helpful or convenient cookies are not automatically “necessary.”
Where law requires consent for analytics, personalization, embedded-media, or advertising cookies, the relevant technology should be held back until you make a valid choice. You may withdraw that consent for future use through an available cookie-settings tool or by clearing and blocking cookies.
7. Managing your choices on the Site
If a cookie banner or privacy-settings panel is available, use it to accept, reject, or adjust non-essential categories. Strictly necessary technologies may remain active because disabling them can prevent a requested feature, security control, or saved privacy choice from working.
After changing a choice, some previously stored cookies may remain until they expire or are deleted from the browser. Clearing browser storage can also remove your saved consent choice, meaning the Site may ask again.
8. Browser and device controls
Most browsers allow you to view, delete, or block cookies through privacy or site-data settings. You can usually block all cookies, block third-party cookies, delete data for one domain, or configure deletion when the browser closes.
Blocking all cookies may affect forms, saved choices, security features, embedded content, or administrator functions. Browser menu names vary, so consult the help section for your browser or device.
9. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Some browsers or extensions send a Global Privacy Control or another opt-out preference signal. Where such a signal is legally binding and applies to processing on the Site, we intend to honor it as required.
“Do Not Track” signals do not have one uniform technical and legal standard across all locations and services. For that reason, the Site may not respond to every DNT signal in the same way.
10. Embedded content and external pages
An article may include or link to a video, product page, social post, or other external resource. A simple link does not itself let the destination place a cookie before you open it. An embedded player or widget, however, may connect to the provider when the page or feature loads.
You can avoid interacting with optional embedded content or open it directly under the provider’s terms. The provider’s cookie and privacy policies govern its own processing.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the Site adds or removes a plugin, measurement tool, embedded service, advertising technology, consent system, or other feature. The date at the top identifies the current version.
If a material change affects your choices, we may present a renewed notice or request a new consent where required.
